Shanghai was an important gateway for silk products being exported to the rest of the world. Today, it is a place where Eastern and Western fashion meet. In the Shanghai Village Silk Studio, the 600 years old Shanghai Gu embroidery techniques, once so common on QiPao, traditional Chinese dresses, have been re-imagined, illustrating the ongoing charm of silk.
